Waterproofing that performs beautifully in a mild climate can fail within a couple of summers in Qatar. The combination of 50°C surface temperatures, relentless UV, thermal cycling and high humidity punishes coatings that aren't engineered for it. Choosing the right system is less about price and more about matching the product to the conditions and the surface.
UV degradation: Cheap, non-UV-stable coatings chalk, crack and lose elasticity under constant sun. Thermal movement: Surfaces expand and contract dramatically between day and night — the membrane must stretch with them. Heat: Soft coatings can flow or blister on hot roofs. Humidity & salts: Coastal moisture and ground salts attack concrete and poorly bonded films.
Exposed roofs & decks → Polyurethane or hybrid urethane. SR Coat PU 270/370 and SR Coat MTX/MT cure to a seamless, highly elastic, UV-stable membrane with strong crack-bridging — ideal for surfaces that bake and move. A reflective white finish (SR Coat MT) also lowers roof temperature.
Wet areas, pools & water tanks → Cementitious. SR Flex & SR Flex XL bond into the concrete, resist hydrostatic pressure (tested to 50 m head) and are potable-water safe — perfect for tanks, pools, bathrooms and foundations.
Tiled bathrooms & balconies → Textured membrane. SR Coat MTR 50 gives a textured key so tiles bond directly over the waterproofing — including tile-on-tile re-waterproofing without demolition.
Walls & facades → Damp proofing. SR Coat DP20 keeps wind-driven rain and moisture out of plaster and concrete.
There is no single "best" waterproofing — there's the right system for each surface, all engineered for Qatar's climate. Matching product to substrate and exposure is exactly what our free survey does.

For exposed roofs in Qatar's heat, a UV-stable liquid membrane such as SR Coat PU (polyurethane) or SR Coat MT/MTX (hybrid urethane) performs best — seamless, highly flexible and reflective to reduce heat gain.
Yes. Our SR systems are formulated for Gulf conditions with service temperatures up to +70°C and high elongation, so they expand and contract with the structure without cracking.
Yes. White, high-SRI coatings like SR Coat MT reflect a large share of solar radiation, lowering roof surface temperatures and easing the load on air-conditioning.
