Specify the exact product
A liquid-applied membrane is a category description, not a complete specification. Provide the substrate, exposure, expected movement, finish and use. Ask Aamtron to confirm whether the requested item is within the available SR or SF range and suitable for the proposed work. Availability, packaging and individual product performance are subject to confirmation.
Check compatibility and application instructions
Request the current technical and safety documents for the proposed product. Confirm preparation, primer, application conditions, coverage or thickness, curing and protection. Do not infer immersion suitability, drinking-water approval or a certification from a general material name.
Review the whole assembly
Include interfaces with drains, joints, repairs and the final finish in the proposed system. A product supplied for one purpose cannot be assumed suitable for another. For a comparison, read PU and bituminous waterproofing and cementitious and liquid systems.

Discuss your waterproofing requirements
Waterproofing membranes: liquid coating or sheet system?
A waterproofing membrane is a continuous barrier specified as part of a complete construction build-up. Liquid-applied products form their layer on the prepared surface; sheet membranes are installed as manufactured sheets with designed laps and terminations. The correct choice depends on the substrate, exposure, detailing and protection, rather than the word “membrane” alone.
Aamtron supplies and installs SR and SF waterproofing systems. This page covers enquiries about liquid membranes and the available product documents. A comparison with bituminous sheet systems does not mean that every sheet membrane or accessory is part of our confirmed supply range.
Plan the complete liquid membrane system
Before selecting a coating, record whether the area is exposed to sunlight, finished with tiles or screed, or subject to water contact. Confirm that the selected product documentation permits the proposed use. A product suitable for an exposed roof should not automatically be used inside a tank.
Identify primers, reinforcement where specified, corners, pipe penetrations, outlets and the final protection layer. A seamless coating still needs properly designed junctions and movement details. Inspect the substrate and follow the product’s surface-condition and curing requirements.
Compare the stated thickness and consumption with the quotation. “Two coats” is not a complete specification if the product, thickness, preparation and detailing are left undefined. Confirm whether application and inspection records are included.
Start with the area being waterproofed
For a roof waterproofing enquiry, describe drainage falls, existing finishes and roof penetrations. For a bathroom, include the intended tile system and drainage details. For water tanks or swimming pools, specify the water-contact conditions and proposed finish.
